Breath coaching for sports performance and recovery
From warm-up to maximum effort and recovery: every phase of your training has its own breathing rhythm.
Yet many athletes train their strength, conditioning, and technique without ever consciously looking at the way they breathe.
Together we find out how your breathing reacts when the intensity goes up. Can you hold a workable rhythm? Do you use your respiratory muscles efficiently? What do you do with the urge to breathe, and what happens when fatigue or the pressure to perform builds? The kitesurfers, Hyrox athletes and ball-sport players I coach in Amsterdam each run into that at a different point.
We then practice this as much as possible in the situations where you need it: during movement, around training stimuli, and in the transition to recovery. The goal is not to keep breathing through your nose under all circumstances or to learn one perfect technique. You will learn to adapt your breath to what your body and the situation demand: activating before a performance moment, maintaining efficient breathing during exertion, and shifting down faster after a load. This way, breath training becomes not a separate component, but a practical addition to how you train, perform, and recover.
Do you want to combine movement, handling pressure, and recovery? Within the Milo Mentorship, sport-specific strength and conditioning, ACT coaching, and breathwork coaching are seamlessly combined.
