Dealing with stress and performance pressure
You do not need to feel calm, confident, or motivated before you start taking action. It is perfectly normal to feel nervous before a presentation, a difficult conversation, or an important competition.
The question is not how to make that tension disappear entirely, but how you want to act when it arises. For athletes, this might mean returning to your task more quickly after a mistake, learning to handle performance pressure differently, or no longer letting perfectionism dictate every training session.
Whenever possible, we practice this around training and performance moments. This could involve a set routine, a focus point between sets, or a specific task performed while fatigued. At work or in daily life, it might be about setting boundaries, making a choice, giving feedback, or stopping procrastination. You will learn to notice your automatic reactions sooner and create a brief moment where you can choose how to respond.
